  3. Watched Dateline tonight. My heart breaks for all of you but I am so happy that justice is finally being served. What a blessing. Billy can be so proud of his wonderful siblings and beautiful daughters for never giving up. Karen

  4. I found myself missing Billy Miller. I felt the grief as though it just happened this week rather than 36 years ago.I felt and sensed Bill Miller sitting next to me watching a small piece of his life story and feeling proud of his daughters as I was. You see I am the Grandmother of his Grandchildren and he was/is the Grandfather that didn't get to see and enjoy them. The precious lives with his blood moving on rather than spilling out on a cold street in the dark. I felt we were sitting in my living room together sharing something for at least a moment in earthly time. I pray for justice and peace for he and his entire family.

  6. My Uncle (Elliot Carlson Ray) was murdered in 1978...and it destroyed our family. The suspected killer was never prosecuted and my father never recovered....he never dealt with the grief and spun out of controll in self destructive behavior. We lost a dad that night in addition to a beloved uncle.

Justice Delayed, Justice Denied was published by Betty Bolles Ellison to draw attention to his unsolved murder and several others during that same time period.

You are right....a conviciton would validate his life and our experience. It still remains unsolved....but perhaps someone with information that can lead to a prosecution will come forward and tell what they know.

I'm glad that your family has more closure.

If those who were responsible for my uncle's murder had chosen forgiveness instead....he would still be alive and our lives would have been dramatically different.

    Thanks for sharing your story.

  7. to anonymous; you said you hope all three go to jail. Am I missing something? Everything refers to George and Vicki did this and George and vicki did that, I would like to know what Rodger did. Someone said he witnessed it, but doesn't that make him a "witness"?I am confused as to why he was charged with murder, other than an article I read that said since it had been so long they felt like they could charge him with murder, but if that is the case, why wasn't Bonnie charged with the same thing?

  8. To: db... part of this is the way NorthCarolina law was written. The other thing is Rodgers statements have been sealed. We have no idea what part he may or may not have had in this? All I know is that Billy our dad would still be alive if Vickie had not made the call for him to meet her and her waiving him down as he drove by on the side of the road.

  9. to anonymous, I am assuming you are one of the daughters. First off, I want to tell you how sorry I am for your loss and for what you have been thru and what you have been without for the last 36 years. I was just curious as to what part Rodger had played in the murder and why his bond was set so much higher than Vickie and George when they are the ones accused of luring and actually pulling the trigger. I thought maybe someone knew more than what has been posted in comments or newspapers. Again I want you to know how sorry I am and I hope the correct people get punished for this crime. DB

  10. I watched the dateline show. It touched my heart as I went to school with one of the family members in this case. I watched and cried and it brings hope that there are angels among us to get the justice and information we need. Wendy, my heart ackes for you and your family. This was a hard story to watch.
